On Saturday, April 5, the Maine Games will be holding auditions to become the official National Anthem singer for the Opening Ceremonies scheduled for Friday, June 20, in Waterville.
These auditions are open to all MAINE singers who believe they have the voice which can stir emotion and patriotism in the hearts of all who hear them.
You will be asked to give your best answer to the following question:
"Why do you want to be the Maine Games National Anthem Singer for 2008."
Based on the responses for this question, the top 50 applicants will be invited to audition on April 5, in Waterville at Colby College.

 In 2007, Kathleen Christie, of Lincolnville, Maine, became the first winner of the Maine Games National Athem Auditions. Kathleen's rendition of the Star Spangled Banner was very stirring and emotional.
She performed at the Maine Games State Baton Twirling Championships in Waterville in May, and again at the Maine Games Opening Ceremonies at Colby College, in June.
More than 100 applications were received for this audition.
