3rd Annual Maine Games State Cross Country Championships
SATURDAY, June 23, 2012
Medomak Valley Nature Trail
320 Manktown Road; Waldoboro, ME
MALE, FEMALE AND YOUTH ATHLETES (10+)
The Medomak Valley Nature Trail at Medomak Valley High School, in Waldoboro, is perhaps the most picturesque and spectator-friendly off-road cross country courses in Maine. Over the past three years this course has been nurtured and groomed by a dedicated corps of volunteers who are not only dedicated runners in their own right, but dedicated to runner throughout the State of Maine.
WHY WE'RE INVESTING IN SOCIAL MEDIA AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO!
Some people think Facebook and Twitter are a silly waste of time. That's too bad for them. These two social media platforms are transforming the way many companies, people, and non-profit organizations are doing business. They're not going away, and eventually everyone will be using them even more than websites. Why not jump on now, and take advantage of the opportunity they offer organizations like the Maine Games.
Facebook and twitter allow us to share information with you, and in turn, you will be sharing it with your contacts, and they'll share with theirs and so on and so on ... Getting the word out about this event should be much easier when everyone is helping to spread the word.

We'll be posting information
about our meet on the Maine Games Facebook page, as well as photos, video, registration information, and even games and your chance to win back your registration fee. But ... You have to "like" us on Facebook to be entered in any of our contests.
Additionally, we'll be posting photos and results to our Facebook page directly from the meet. Share our page with your friends, and they'll be able to follow our meet even if they can't make it there to see it live.

We're also using Twitter to
connect with athletes from all over the world including Olympians and professional athletes who want to follow our events.
We'll be posting information, results, photos, and videos and we'll also be sharing tweets with spectators, the media, and others who are at the event, those who are competing, and those who are following the Maine Games events all over the globe.
USE #mainegames when tweeting so we can follow your tweets and can keep up with you and your competitions as well!
For several years now
athletes who have competed in the Maine Games have been posting videos of their events on YouTube. We have our own YouTube channel and encourage anyone with a video camera to share what they capture with the rest of the Maine Games community.
Click the logo above to go to the Maine Games' YouTube page to see what others have posted or to put your own videos on the Internet.

Athletes who enter early can help event organizers plan for the greatest event possible. By letting those who are running this meet know who is coming, they can know how many medals to purchase, how many T-shirts, how many volunteers are needed, and much more. Your early registration and consideration for this event is deeply appreciated.

The Maine Games uses "Sports Sign-up" to handle all online registrations for Maine Games events. It is the most efficient, effective, and accurate way to collect the information needed by our organization to create the best event and environment for our athletes. We recognize that there may still be a few people who would rather not register online or use a credit card for registration. However, our online registration platform is far safer than paying by check OR sending cash through the mail. For all concerned, the Maine Games has opted to offer online registration only. Contact event Commissioner George Gould at gmgould@myfairpoint.com to make any other arrangements. This will be at his discretion.
