MAINE AMATEUR SPORTS ALLIANCE is a giant umbrella under which individuals, associations, organizations, leagues, and other supporters of Maine amateur sports can find support for their efforts, assistance from an organization with a mission of developing and expanding opportunities for Maine's amateur sports communities, and an opportunity to share information, ideas, and resources with other Maine-based amateur sports groups.
MASA ("MAY-sa") membership will provide an opportunity to create an enormous block of purchasing power for things like insurance, T-shirts, awards, venue rentals, etc; develop stronger ties to a particular sport or other sports; offer support and clout with governmental, and quasi-governmental agencies to the benefit of all associated with Maine amateur sports; provide a cohesive group dynamic which can offer special benefits and services such as volunteer coaches training and certification, awards banquets, seminars, vendor shows, and much more.
The MAINE GAMES connection
Members of MASA will have the opportunity to become partners with the Maine Games to provide amateur athletes of all ages and abilities involved in their particular sport with an official State Games event.
Opening up the Maine Games to MASA members can also help that member gain notoriety, increase their membership, and develop a quality sports competition event worthy of a statewide audience.
Producing a State Games event to amateur athletes in Maine can also help MASA members fund their own organization, as the Maine Games shares revenue sources with the "host" organization, as well as provides for insurance, risk management, awards, and possible qualification for the next State Games of America, which is the national amateur sports festival presented by the National Congress of State Games.
