The Maine Games is the Pine Tree State's own multi-event Olympic-style sports festival, open to amateur athletes of all ages and abilities. As a member of the National Congress of State Games, the Maine Games provides grassroots opportunities for all Mainers to participate on a statewide stage, practice good sportsmanship, and share in the camaraderie special to sports and athletics.
The Maine Games is now part of Main Street Madness, in Waterville, sponsored by Waterville Main Street!

The National Congress of State Games is an organization made up of individual State Games organizations from around the country. State Games organizations exist to provide opportunities to amateur athletes from Hawaii to Maine.
The State Games of America exist to provide medalists in individual State Games events the opportunity to compete against athletes from all over the country in a wide variety of events. The 2009 State Games of America will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hundreds of Maine Games athletes will qualify in 2007 and 2008 for the next SGA.
